against

the dying of the

light

You may have survived the zombie apocalypse, but can you survive each other?

Watch the trailer now!

what

A weekend live roleplaying event, in which we collaboratively explore the meaning of community in a post-apocalyptic setting. There are horror elements to the game, however there will not be any organised combat.

There are two different factions:

The Crofters: a close-knit community working to be self-sufficient on an old croft near Dumfries in the southern uplands of Scotland.

The Walkers: a mismatched troupe of paranoid survivors, picking over the corpse of a dying world.

You may have survived the zombie apocalypse, but can you survive each other?

where

We have exclusive use of Marthrown of Mabie, a wonderful glamping site near Dumfries in Scotland.

Accommodation is either in their crofters cottages, luxury yurts,

Is this game for me?

yes, if you enjoy...

  • collaborative roleplaying without a complicated system of rules

  • player-lead interactions and space for expression of emotions

  • 7-mile hikes through the Scottish woodland (Walkers)

  • bringing a caring community to life; proving that compassion can survive the zombie apocalypse! (Crofters)

  • seeing what happens when two distinct groups with very different world-views meet

  • exploring themes of community & isolation, despair & hope, loss & reconciliation

  • trying to remember all the words to Abba songs from the Old Times

probably not, if you want...

  • monster attacks and combat

  • puzzles to solve

  • to be able to fight your way out of an argument

  • to be able to mend the world and fix everything
